Lonnie Martin- Writer/Director/Co-Producer:

Lonnie holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts from Davis and Elkins College. He has written and directed the three acclaimed short films, First Session, Under the Bed, and Posi+ive. As a writer, his screenplay Strangling Desdemona was selected as the 2000 best screenplay by the Santa Fe Writer's Project after he developed and independently published it as a comic book in 1999. His one-act play, Eight O' Clock Curfew, was produced in 2001 as part of the Source Theatre Festival in DC. That same year, his short play, Nod, was part of DC-based Cherry Red Productions' Dingleberries. Small Still Voice, the film on which he served as co-writer for Red Fox P Productions, was selected as "Best of Baltimore" in the 2005 48 Hour Film Project. Aaron Shirley- Director of Photography: 

Artist, musician, and filmmaker, Aaron received a B.F.A. from the Savannah College of Art and Design where he produced his first feature length experimental film The Carrion Malfunction. He worked as an AVID editor for commercials and industrials at Silver Hammer Studios in NC, before moving to DC where he worked at Arlington's ACT channel 33, NASA Goddard, Telecine Colorist at Erickson Archival, and freelanced for such companies as HUD, Waterfrog Productions, and USPS where he now works full time. He has written, produced, directed, animated, shot and edited dozens of shorts and features. His second feature The Subliminal Dimension is currently in production.

Stephanie Petagno- Art Director:

Since graduating with a BFA in sculpture and video from the Maryland Institute, College of Art, Stephanie has worked on numerous productions; including co-directing two documentaries (Behind Closed Doors and Saving Tamar’s Children) for the Maryland Disability Law Center. She directed and co-wrote Small Still Voice which won Best Film, Best Music, and Best Actress in the 2005 Baltimore 48 Hour Film Project. She was the makeup and special makeup effects supervisor for Deadlands: The Rising, featured at the NY Horror Film Festival in Oct. '06; recreated the ruby slippers (and then set them on fire) for The Slippers by Reddleman Productions; and was the clown painter and assistant special makeup effects artist for the Lion’s Gate film Fear of Clowns 2. She currently works in the NY, DC, and Baltimore markets as a costume designer and make up artist.

Jim McGivney - Editor:

Women's Studies marks the fourth collaboration between producer/director/editor Jim McGivney and Ningen Manga Productions. Like many a filmmaker, Jim's love of film as an art form began in high school as he was jockeying the register of his neighborhood video store. After receiving a degree in Media Arts and Design from James Madison University in 1999, Jim made his directorial debut with cyber sex?, a short comedy about internet relationships which featured a fresh-faced young actor named Lonnie Martin. Since then Jim has worn many different hats for many different projects, including Ningen Manga Productions' First Session and Under the Bed. Jim currently resides in Charlotte, North Carolina with his beautiful wife, Jen, and their two furry, four-legged children.

Sean Russell- Sound Engineer:

Sean records audio onsite all over the metro-DC area at all kinds of events and also works with a wide assortment of local and national artists in local studios. Currently he is an engineer at Cue Recording and also works out of C&C Studios and Dragonfly East. Sean is also the Director of Multimedia for the New Indie Artist record label, where he is responsible for all digital content and the content delivery system. He works on post-production for both audio and video projects and recently worked as the post-production supervisor for First Session (2005) and for Under the Bed (2006) which won the 48 Hour Film Festival's 'Best Sound Design' award.

Shanna Beauchamp- Fight Choreographer:

Shanna recieved her BFA from North Carolina School of the Arts in June 2006. She holds an AA in acting and a BFA in Directing. Shanna is an advanced actor combatant, and a member of the SAFD. She has trained extensively with Dale Anthony Girard (Fight Master) and many other Fight Masters, Directors and Choreographers in the society. Shanna wears many theatrical hats including Acting, Directing, Fight and Dance Choreography,Singing, Teaching, and Voice and Dialect/dialouge coaching. Shanna worked at The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts as Educations Director in Residence through the Kenan Institute and currently resides in LA where she is continuing to pursue her theatre and film career.
